Bumper Pool’s football career will continue with Carolina Panthers

Arkansas’ all-time leading tackler will have a chance to play in the NFL.

Linebacker Bumper Pool signed a free-agent deal with the Carolina Panthers on Saturday after he went undrafted in seven rounds.

Pool didn’t have an opportunity to compete in combines in-between season’s end and the draft. But his regular-season play over five years was plenty to earn attention.

Pool left Arkansas as the school’s all-time leading tackler, registering 441 as a sideline-to-sideline type of linebacker. He wasn’t a pass rusher during his time in Fayetteville, instead he was the kind of player who stuffed plays in the hole.

The Texas native was an All-SEC player each of his last three years with the Razorbacks.
