Buffaloes Wire analyst provides X-factors for USC-Colorado women’s basketball showcase

We asked Buffaloes Wire staff writer Tony Cosolo to give us his X-factors for the USC-Colorado women’s basketball game on Sunday in Boulder.

Here’s what Cosolo told us:

“Can USC slow down the Colorado Twin Towers? Colorado’s front-court duo of Quay Miller and Aaronette Vonleh has powered the team forward this season and will put the Trojans to the test. Vonleh has been the biggest star, leading the team in scoring and controlling the paint on both sides of the court with her size and soft touch. Miller’s scoring has dropped this season, but she is cleaning the glass with the best of them as she is currently on a three-game double-double streak.”

As for Colorado, Cosolo offered this:

“Can Colorado match USC’s physicality? I took my daughter to see CU take on USC last season in Boulder and watched as the Trojans beat up the Buffs en route to a 71-54 win. It was apparent that USC’s rough-and-tumble style affected CU on its home court. So, it does not surprise me to see USC near the top of the Pac-12 in most defensive stats this season. Colorado must match the physicality with some of its own to get revenge for last season’s home-court loss.”
