Budda Baker’s tweet, scrubbed Twitter bio raise questions

So far this offseason with a new general manager and coaching staff, one Arizona Cardinals player stands out as the guy whom everyone is going out of their way to effusively praise. That would be safety Budda Baker.

He is a team captain, the most decorated player in terms of achievement and maybe the most popular player on the team right now.

It would appear he is not happy.

Why?

This tweet raised questions on Thursday.

Someone did something to make something personal for Baker?

There is also this minor detail. He has removed Arizona and the Cardinals from his Twitter bio.

We have seen this move from many players. On the Cardinals, Patrick Peterson, Chandler Jones and Kyler Murray all did it at some point. Many other players in the league have done it when there was something up, usually contract-related.

When players do this, it doesn’t mean there is necessarily something, but in every case, it wasn’t nothing.

Nothing concrete has come out but there is the belief that Baker is unhappy with the team. Some speculate that he approached the team for a contract extension with two years remaining on his current deal and was turned down.

Maybe he is just unhappy with the fact that it looks like the Cardinals will not be in a position to win much this year. He wants to win.

Whatever it is, it is just another instance of the Cardinals getting attention for something we don’t want to see.
