The Bucks plan to sign Glenn Robinson III after waiving Drew Timme and two others

On Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks waived prospects Drew Timme, Omari Moore and Jazian Gortman. They followed that up with a move on Thursday, agreeing to sign Glenn Robinson III, the son of former Bucks all-star Glenn Robinson, to an Exhibit 10 deal.

An Exhibit 10 contract is for one year at the league minimum and it means the Bucks can convert it to a two-way contract before the start of the season. The organization gained that flexibility with Wednesday’s moves, as Timme had originally signed an Exhibit 10 and Moore had originally signed a two-way.

The Bucks have one more preseason game on their schedule, Friday against Memphis at Fiserv Forum. They are also schedule to host their annual scrimmage on Sunday. The regular season begins on Oct. 26 against Philadephia.

Teams are allowed 3 two-way contracts, and the Bucks have point guards TyTy Washington Jr. and Lindell Wigginton on those deals.

The Athletic originally reported the Bucks' intent to sign Robinson.

Robinson, who will turn 30 on Jan. 8, is a 6-foot-6-inch wing who was the No. 40 pick in the 2014 draft out of Michigan. He appeared in 304 games for six teams from 2014-21. He last played for the Sacramento Kings three seasons ago, appearing in 23 games.

The Bucks were one of several teams that watched Robinson work out during Summer League in Las Vegas in mid-July.

Over his career, Robinson has been a 37.3% three-point shooter while averaging 5.9 points per game. His best season came in 2019-20 when he averaged 12.9 points per game and shot 40% from behind the three-point line in 48 games for the Golden State Warriors.

He also won the 2017 slam dunk competition as a member of the Indiana Pacers.

The Indiana native told FieldhouseFiles.com that he had spent the last few years connecting with his daughter. He also spent time in a Harvard Business School program.

Bucks waive Drew Timme

Timme was a popular offseason addition by the Bucks, as the undrafted free agent out of Gonzaga came to Milwaukee as a three-time All-American and two-time West Coast Conference player of the year. In his four years with Bulldogs, the forward averaged 17.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

In limited preseason action, he helped the Bucks beat the Chicago Bulls with a heady putback of a loose ball late in the game.

Moore and Gortman were also undrafted free agent signings, giving the team camp depth at the point guard spot. The Bucks beat out several teams for Moore’s services in signing the two-way deal, but he did not make his preasesaon debut until the final minutes of the Bucks’ loss to Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Gortman came to the Bucks from the Overtime Elite program, and he also did not play until late in the game against the Thunder.

Including Robinson, the Bucks training camp roster is at 19 players.
