Bucks' Parker to continue rehab with G League affiliate

The Milwaukee Bucks assigned forward Jabari Parker to their G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, on Monday to continue his rehabilitation from knee surgery.

Parker was averaging 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists through 51 games last season when he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee on Feb.8, 2017. He underwent surgery six days later and has spent this season rehabbing the injury.

This is Parker's second stint with the Herd as he increases his basketball activities while the Bucks were in Toronto on Monday for a game against the Raptors. He spent two days practicing with the Herd last month as well, reportedly taking part in 5-on-5 drills that are considered an important step in his rehab.

Parker said in September at the team's media day that he was targeting a February return to the court, and that is still believed to the team's timeline as well.

The 22-year-old former No. 2 overall draft pick also tore the ACL in his left knee 25 games into his rookie season in December 2014.

Despite the injury, Parker was reportedly seeking a max extension from the Bucks last offseason. The two sides were unable to find common ground on an extension, so Parker can become a restricted free agent at the end of this season.

Milwaukee is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference at 19-15 this season.
