Browns restructure TE Harrison Bryant’s contract
The Cleveland Browns gained some salary cap flexibility on Thursday by re-working tight end Harrison Bryant’s contract ahead of the 2023 season. News of the re-worked deal broke on Twitter, where details of the agreement came to light in relatively short order.
Instead of a $2.7 million non-guaranteed payday for the talented tight end, his new deal includes just over $1.7 million guaranteed, with incentives to push it to a total value of $4 million.

This gives Bryant some security in the final year of his contract and gives him more incentive to play at an elite level if his pending free agency in 2024 hasn’t already lit a fire under him.
A crucial piece of the Browns’ offensive attack, Bryant is behind David Njoku on Cleveland’s depth chart, but will likely find a new home as a starter on another team if he continues on his impressive trajectory next season.
His utility as both a blocker and receiver has gained fan-favorite status in northern Ohio, and with this new deal, he will have plenty to prove to both the Browns faithful and prospective suitors for his pending free agency.
