Browns hire Utah State’s DC Ephraim Banda as new safeties coach

Former defensive backs coach Jeff Howard has moved on and the Cleveland Browns have hired part of his replacement. Former Miami Hurricanes safeties coach and current Utah State defensive coordinator Ephraim Banda has been hired as the new safeties coach.

Banda was the co-defensive coordinator in 2021 during Utah State’s title season. His coaching career began in 2011 after a knee injury that ended his playing career as a safety. He has plenty of experience in the position but this will be his first coaching job in the NFL. The overall staff is changing and evolving and we will see if that improves in 2023.
