Bronson's Britten voted Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week

BRONSON – Bronson senior grappler Jacob Britten is in the midst of an amazing final season on the mats at Bronson High School.

As part of the Hammerin Vikes Britten has won numerous in-season wrestling tournaments, including the Big 8 conference championship at 190 pounds just this past week. During his run to the Big 8 title, Britten found his way to another milestone, winning career match 150, an amazing feat for any wrestler, as few ever reach that mark.

Well, thanks to his efforts over the past week in winning the Big 8 crown, Britten has been chosen by you, the readers, as this week’s Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week.

Britten won this week’s poll with 54% of the vote in one of the largest polls this winter season, beating out a field of seven talented wrestlers from across the county.

Britten has been extremely busy since his 150th career win, helping lead the Vikings to a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 Team District title with a pin fall win at 285 in the championship finals versus Union City. Britten now has his sights set on this Saturday when his team will host the MHSAA Division 4 Individual Districts as the senior looks to return to Ford Field for the MHSAA State Finals.

Finishing runner-up in this week’s Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week poll is Coldwater senior wrestler Tre Miller. Miller finished the weeklong voting process with 33% of the vote after a week that saw the 100-match wrestler win the Interstate 8 conference title at 157 pounds. Since his run to the conference title, Miller earned a pin fall victory versus his Vicksburg opponent in the Division 2 Team Districts, although his Cardinal team lost the battle.

Miller is now looking forward to working his way back to Ford Field for the MHSAA Individual State Finals, with the journey starting at the Division 2 Individual Districts on Saturday at Stevensville Lakeshore.

Also receiving votes in the Breathe Free Duct Cleaning Athlete of the Week poll were Landyn Crance, Logan Mears, and Montana Connell of Union City; as well as Carson Norton and Mason Lindsey of Bronson.
