Broncos WR Tim Patrick suffers season-ending ACL injury

Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick suffered a season-ending ACL injury during Tuesday’s practice, KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis first reported on Twitter. That report has since been confirmed by multiple media outlets.

Patrick suffered the non-contact injury after making a catch at practice. He is now set to be placed on injured reserve, ruling him out for the entire 2022 season.

Patrick just signed a three-year, $30 million contract extension with Denver last fall after catching 104 passes for 1,476 yards and 11 touchdowns from 2021-2022. He emerged as one of the team’s most reliable receivers over the last two seasons.

Patrick had been set to serve as the team’s No. 2 receiver this season across from Courtland Sutton.

With Patrick sidelined, the Broncos’ remaining top receivers are Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and Montrell Washington. The list of receivers competing for the final WR spots on the roster includes Kendall Hinton, Tyrie Cleveland, Seth Williams and Brandon Johnson.
