Brock Purdy and George Kittle are going to the Super Bowl: social-media reaction
Former Iowa State quarterback and former Iowa tight end George Kittle had leading roles in the San Francisco 49ers' 34-31 victory over Detroit in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
Purdy completed 20 of 31 passes for 267 yards and ran for 48 yards. Kittle caught two passes for 27 yards and had crushing blocks throughout the game. Kittle also recovered the game-clinching onside kick.
Purdy, Kittle and the 49ers rallied from a 17-point deficit to win Sunday's game. They will play the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas.
