LSU coach Brian Kelly on radio show: 'We're gonna go beat the heck out of Florida State'

LSU head coach Brian Kelly made a bold proclamation Thursday evening, three days ahead of the Tigers' season opener against Florida State football.

Kelly, making an appearance on his radio show, proclaimed "We're gonna go beat the heck out of Florida State," according to The Daily Advertiser's Koki Riley.

The No. 8 Florida State Seminoles (0-0) open their season against the No. 5 LSU Tigers (0-0) in a matchup with potential College Football Playoff implications down the line at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. (TV: ABC).

This marks the fourth straight year FSU head Mike Norvell and Kelly will face off, as Kelly coached at Notre Dame prior to taking the LSU job. Kelly has won two of the three matchups.

Norvell and the Seminoles got the better of Kelly in a 24-23 victory on a Shyheim Brown blocked extra point last season in New Orleans in Week 1.

FSU beat rival Florida last season by a touchdown after then starting QB and now Indianapolis Colt Anthony Richardson said "When we win this one it will definitely build momentum for us.
