Brewers RHP Anderson (illness) headed to DL

Milwaukee right-hander Chase Anderson will be placed on the 10-day disabled list after being scratched from his scheduled start against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night because of a stomach illness, the Brewers announced.

The move will be retroactive to Thursday. The Brewers will recall right-hander Freddy Peralta, who will make his major league debut in Sunday's series finale against the Rockies after Brent Suter was moved up a day to pitch in Anderson's place Saturday.

Additionally, the Brewers have optioned right-hander Alec Asher to Triple-A Colorado Springs, recalling right-hander Jorge Lopez in a corresponding move. Asher had been promoted to the majors earlier Saturday and threw two scoreless innings in Milwaukee's 4-0 loss to Colorado.

The Brewers announced Anderson wouldn't pitch about two hours prior the start of Saturday's game, as the 30-year-old struggled sleeping as a result of his illness.

"I don't know what it came from," said Anderson. "Maybe something I ate. I don't know, honestly."

Anderson is 3-3 with a 3.97 ERA in eight starts this season.
