Call them the Craig Counsell Clashes.

The Milwaukee Brewers are offering fans with a valid Wisconsin address on their user account to get an early jump on single-game tickets for the American Family Field battles this year against the Chicago Cubs. Now through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, those fans can make those purchases at brewers.com/WisconsinPresale.

The rest of single-game tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15.

Needless to say, Cubs-Brewers tilts will have a renewed vigor this year after Wisconsin native and long-tenured Brewers manager Craig Counsell elected to join the rival Cubs as their skipper.

Over the years, the stadium has been famously overrun by Cubs fans from nearby Chicago (and, let's be honest, Wisconsin itself), and the club's strategies in the past to re-tilt the scales (including presales like this) haven't been overtly effective. But despite the heated nature of the rivalry, it's never seen anything quite like Counsell's defection.

In a way, it's the club's way of acknowledging that you should get dibs for being born a Brewer.

The Cubs first arrive in Milwaukee for a weekday series May 27-30, then return June 28-30.

The Brewers will play at Wrigley Field on May 3-5 and again in July just before the all-star break. For more information, call the Brewers Ticket office at (414) 902-4000.
