Breaking: Vilay Nakkoun commits to Rutgers football

Vilay Nakkoun continues the hot streak for Rutgers football, the Florida athlete committing to the Scarlet Knights on Wednesday night.

The verbal from Nakkoun makes it five commitments for Rutgers football in the past 12 days. The previous four commitments all came local to Rutgers with two verbals from New Jersey (three-star tight end Logan Blake and three-star h-back Dante Barone) and two from Long Island (wide receiver Dylan Braithwaite and safety Ian Strong).

As for Nakkoun, he is a class of 2023 athlete. He is currently un-ranked by Rivals and 247Sports.

Nakkoun is a quarterback for Orlando Christian Prep (Orlando, FL). Last month after receiving his offer from the Big Ten program, he told RutgersWire that he likely won’t be under center at the next level:

“Well, I’m an athlete and I love playing every position but at the next level I may be playing wide receiver.”

He tweeted about his commitment on Wednesday evening:

His other listed offers were South Florida and Appalachian State.
