BREAKING: Former TLCA San Angelo football coach Paulo Gonzalez dismissed from position
Former TLCA San Angelo football coach Paulo Gonzalez confirmed multiple media reports that he was dismissed as the head coach of the football program to the Standard-Times via text message on Wednesday.
Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday, Gonzalez was dismissed from his position on Tuesday, Sept. 5. It was also reported by Ryan Compeau of KLST on his X (formerly Twitter) account that the program will move forward with Athletic Director Kent Sherill and offensive coordinator Jonah Masters taking over for the remainder of the season.

The TLCA San Angelo Campus Administration confirmed the release of Gonzalez with the Standard-Times through a press release stating that "Athletic Director, Kent Sherrill and Offensive Coordinator, Jonah Masters (along with our incredible coaching staff) will be leading the TLCA San Angelo football team for the remainder of the season."
In his text message to the Standard-Times Gonzalez stated his dismissal "was not fair and unjust."
After two weeks, the TLCA San Angelo Eagles are 1-1 with a 65-14 loss to Ozona in Week 1 and a 27-24 win over Odessa Compass Academy in Week 2. The Eagles continue their season with a matchup at Winters at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8.
