Higgins, Delcore star for Pembroke boys hoops: Top South Shore performers for Feb. 12-18

The postseason for high school winter sports is heating up.

Last weekend, the MIAA wrestling sectionals got underway. Soon, track, swimming and gymnastics will jump in the mix. The basketball and hockey seasons are down to the final weeks before the state tournament begins.

Catch up on last week's action right here. On Sunday, Marshfield boys hockey won the Ed Burns Tournament. For Archbishop Williams boys basketball, Tristan Rodriguez exploded for 42 points to tally his 1,000th career point.

Sunday, Feb. 18

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Reese Bartlett scored 21 points in Bridgewater-Raynham's 58-48 loss to Bishop Feehan.

Elle Orlando scored 19 points in Notre Dame Academy's 66-14 win over Bellingham.

Lilly Blow posted her fifth consecutive double-double in Fontbonne's 59-56 win over Bedford. Freshman Alana MacLean (16 points, 12 rebounds) posted her first and Maggie Bedard chipped in 14 points.

Oliver Ames' Avery Gamble scored 18 points in a 43-24 win over Andover.

Maliah Pierre (11 points), Jenna Mishou (13) and Taryn Leonard (11) led the way as Whitman-Hanson defeated Billerica, 63-38.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Marshfield defeated Newton South, 60-54, to clinch a spot in the state tournament. Jake Brilliant scored a team-high 17 points.

BOYS HOCKEY

Triton defeated Norwell, 3-2.

Archbishop Williams defeated Duxbury, 3-2, in the semifinals of the Buddy Ferreira Classic. Mike Yucius and Cole Martin scored in the loss.

BC High defeated Bishop Feehan, 4-0, in a Ferreira Classic consolation game. Liam Kinneen and Diego Menes each had a goal and an assist.

TRACK & FIELD

The Pembroke boys and girls both finished second at the Div. 4 championships. The Archbishop Williams and Hanover girls tied for sixth.

The Pembroke boys and girls both won the 4x200m relays.

Joseph D'Angelo (6.52) and Sarah Claflin (7.12) both won the 55m. Claflin also won the long jump (18-6.75).

Hanover's Natalie Mutschler won the 55m hurdles (8.83).

Saturday, Feb. 17

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Cohasset Sarah Chenette had 32 points and 16 rebounds in a 65-45 win over Dracut.

Foxboro defeated Bridgewater-Raynham, 78-38. Reese Bartlett scored 15 points in the loss.

Leila Morton scored 22 points in Milton Academy's 63-47 loss to Thayer Academy.

Tajeiha Madison (12 points) and Neveah King (11 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists) led Brockton to a 46-39 win over Belmont.

Jasmine James scored 18 points in Thayer Academy's 50-45 loss to Brooks.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Cohasset defeated Collegiate Charter of Lowell, 44-39, to qualify for the state tournament for the 15th consecutive season. Jack Cullinan (11 points) and Max Monahan (13) played well.

Isaiah Green scored 33 points as Hull defeated Calvary Chapel Academy, 69-58. Max MacEachern added 18.

Jaylen Thomas scored 24 points off five 3-pointers as New Heights defeated Roxbury Prep, 71-47. Christian Dalton added 22 points.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Lila Chamoun made 31 saves and Sabrina Stone scored the lone goal in Milton's 1-0 win over Marshfield.

Stoughton's Ella Cummings scored two goals in an 8-2 loss to Hanover. In the win, Allie Condon had three goals and an assist while Vanessa Federico had a goal and three assists.

Braintree's Callie Burchill scored in a 3-1 loss to Archbishop Williams. Shea Nolan, Izzy O'Brien and Colleen Sansone scored in the win.

Pembroke defeated Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake, 5-4, in overtime.

BOYS HOCKEY

Attleboro defeated Silver Lake, 2-1.

Finn Kelly scored five goals in Archbishop Williams' 6-2 win over Falmouth in the Buddy Ferreira Classic.

Shane Mulachy and Robbie Casagrande both scored their 100th career points in Cohasset/Hull's 11-4 win over South Shore Tech.

North Quincy defeated Quincy, 9-0.

David Pittenger had two goals and an assist in Duxbury's 6-3 win over Arlington Catholic in the Ferreira Classic.

Nauset defeated Scituate, 4-3.

Marshfield's Teddy Devoe scored a hat trick in a 9-0 win over Bridgewater-Raynham.

Middleboro's Sam Steinman scored three goals and added an assist in a 5-2 win over Monomoy.

Diman defeated Stoughton/Brockton, 3-1. Garrett Sager scored the goal in the loss while Sean McGowan played well in net.

TRACK & FIELD

Milton was the highest local finisher at the Div. 3 championships. The girls placed ninth while the boys tied for seventh. Sadie Ruth placed second in the 600 meters. The boys and girls 4x200m relays both placed third.

Middleboro's Isabel Wheeler won the 55m hurdles (8.41). Southeastern's Chloe Champagne took the high jump crown (5-2).

WRESTLING

Hanover's Anthony Mann won his third consecutive Division 3 state title, taking the crown at 150 pounds. Michael Costello placed sixth. Scituate placed eighth as a team. Paul Cheverie took second place.

Bridgewater-Raynham placed third at the Div. 2 state tournament. Brent Von Magnus won the 132-pound title. Luke Driscoll took second at 175. Olivia Polanksy won the 107 title at the girls meet, while Kennedie Davis (114) took second.

Friday, Feb. 16

BOYS BASKETBALL

Armani Perkins scored 24 points in Holbrook's 58-41 win over South Shore Charter. Allen Brown (17 points) and Odens Massillon (12) also contributed.

Tyler Anderson scored 19 points to lead Blue Hills to a 57-38 win over Westport. Elijah Dumornay chipped in 7.

Hingham defeated Pembroke, 50-45, behind 23 points from Chase Mello and a double-double from Killian La Tanzi (12 points, 17 rebounds). Jack Nicholas had 7 assists.

Norwell defeated Randolph, 75-35, as Nick Adams had 12 points and Jacob Stull added 10.

Todd Egan (16 points) and Tyrin MacDonald (15) led South Shore Tech to a 47-43 win over Calvary Chapel. Seamus Hanlon had a game-high 19 points in the loss.

Kingston Maxwell scored 27 points to lead Abington to an 87-52 win over Cohasset. Tyler Staiti (17 points), Connor Pease (12 points, 14 rebounds) and Jake McSharry (10 points) all finished in double digits. Jack Reilly added 8 points. Jack Cullinan and Luke Moore each scored 13 points in the loss.

Hanover defeated Plymouth North, 67-64. Sean King and Nelson Thevenin each scored 12 points in the loss.

Plymouth South defeated Duxbury, 68-60, to clinch a state-tournament spot. Justin LaChance and Al Marzullo each finished with 18 points.

Zack Ivanoski scored 13 points and Jake Willard had 12 as Oliver Ames defeated Foxboro, 74-49.

Brockton defeated New Bedford, 59-54.

East Bridgewater defeated Sandwich, 53-49, behind a double-double from Dylan Kaplinger (18 points, 14 rebounds).

Newton North defeated BC High, 48-47.

Barnstable defeated Southeastern, 61-55.

Eli Connor had 17 points and Anthony Alessi had 13, but Stoughton lost to Sharon, 67-55.

Jay'von DePina scored 23 points and Joey Ebian added 9 in Cardinal Spellman's 61-33 win over Dover-Sherborn.

Joshua Grimes scored 17 points in a 74-44 win over Hull. Finn Manning scored his first varsity points.

West Bridgewater defeated Greater New Bedford Voke, 67-62, in overtime.

Theo Moore scored 21 points, 15 in the third quarter, but Braintree lost to Durfee, 67-63. Omar Ghneim added 18 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Sophie Lombardi (8 points) and Meara Conley (4) played well in Norwell's 60-16 win over Randolph.

West Bridgewater lost to Greater New Bedford Voke, 58-47.

Oliver Ames' Avery Gamble scored 18 points in a 68-44 loss to Foxboro.

Seniors Jane Stravin (6 points) and Katelyn Donovan played well in Duxbury's 53-27 win over Plymouth South. Hailey Flynn had a game-high 12 points.

Alissa Marcella scored 22 points in Pembroke's 58-50 win over Hingham. Ellie Tam (11 points) and Sophie Derochea (10) also chipped in.

Sandwich defeated East Bridgewater, 55-35. Shania Gardner scored 11 in the loss.

Cohasset defeated Abington, 49-29, behind 18 points from Sarah Chenette and 11 from Addy Andrews. The win clinched the South Shore League Tobin Division title for the Skippers. Savvy Eriksen and Ella Williamson each scored 8 points in the loss.

Fatima Sidibay scored a career-high 27 points in Canton's loss to Mansfield.

Ali Perry played well as Carver defeated Hull, 71-32.

Ally Johnson scored 15 points in Blue Hills' 50-34 loss to Westport.

Dylan Dormady scored 31 points in Rising Tide's 62-56 loss to Saint John Paul II. Ian Thompson had 14 points.

BOYS HOCKEY

Sam Caulfield made 33 saves in Milton Academy's 4-0 win over Thayer Academy.

BOYS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

At the Div. 2 state championships at the Reggie Lewis Center, Marshfield's Graham Heinrich won the 1,000 meters in 2:32.67 to help the Rams finish ninth in team scoring with 27 points. Also for Marshfield, the 4x400m relay of Sean Behan, Matt McCabe, Luke Leary and Kyle Behan was third in 3:32.63; McCabe was fourth in the mile (4:28.41); Thomas Bongiolatti was fifth in the shot put (47-0); and Nathan Looney was seventh in the 55m (:6.65).

Bridgewater-Raynham's Kauan Bento (BR) was second in the 55m (:6.46) and ran on the third-place 4x200m relay (1:32.89) with Connor Johnson, Joseph Manning and Evan Bray. Bray was eighth in the 55m (:6.66), and Malik Washburn was eighth in the 55m hurdles (:8.16).

Hingham's 4x400m relay of Matt McCarthy, Nate Antoine, Craig Boutin and Will Matthews was fifth in 3:33.45, and Arthur Barrett tied for sixth in the high jump (5-10).

Plymouth North's Noah Gould was fifth in the 300m (:35.96), and Quincy/North Quincy's Jayden Francois was seventh in the 55m hurdles (:8.16).

GIRLS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

At the Div. 2 state championships at the Reggie Lewis Center, Plymouth North's Macey Shriner won the 1,000m in 2:54.95 to help the Blue Eagles finish in a tie for 13th in team scoring with 11 points.

Quincy/North Quincy was the highest-placing local team, taking eighth with 26 points. Q/NQ got third-place finishes from Maddy McGillicuddy (600m, 1:38.45), Salma Boukhtam (1,000m, 3:01.00) and Aluna Coogan-Coyne (mile, 5:03.82); those three also ran on the second-place 4x400m relay with Sophie Slezas (4:06.51).

Marshfield's 4x800m relay of Ava Brunswick, Sarah Penney, Meredith Miller and Eleanor Angeles-Whitfield was fourth in 10:14.76.

Foer Hingham, Charlotte Sweeney was fifth in the high jump (5-0), Clare Lowther was seventh in the 1,000m (3:06.27), and the Harborwomen's 4x200m relay was seventh (1:51.57).

Bridgewater-Raynham's Sydney O'Donnell was fifth in the 1,000m (3:02.96) and then ran on the fifth-place 4x400m relay (4:11.34).

Thursday, Feb. 15

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Middleboro's Jessica Perry scored 17 points while Hailey Iwanski added 15 in a 64-42 win over Rockland. Kenzie Roberts added 12.

Fallon Ryan had 15 points in Hull's 45-12 win over South Shore Charter. Eighth-grader Natalie Reilly scored her first 8 varsity points. Margot Harper added 6.

Hanover defeated Duxbury, 41-29, as Mary Kate Flynn had a double-double (18 points, 14 rebounds). Hailey Flynn had 10 points in the loss.

Alissa Marcella scored 23 points in Pembroke's 58-42 win over Plymouth North. Ellie Tam added 16 points off four 3-pointers.

Megan Doyle had 21 points while Callie Flynn had 11 points and 15 blocks 64-31 win over Brockton. Abby Morris added 12 points. Tajeiha Madison had 13 points in the loss.

Alyssa Hopps scored 16 points and Rory Kennedy had 14 in Quincy's 50-24 win over Marshfield. That victory locked up Quincy's second consecutive Patriot League Fisher Division title.

Ally Johnson scored 19 points as Blue Hills defeated Diman, 56-42, to lock up the Warrior second consecutive Mayflower League championship. Bella Sulfaro had a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Bridget Devine added 11 points.

Nina Crean scored 18 points in Hingham's 72-36 win over Plymouth South.

Ava Bryan scored 27 points to lead North Quincy to a 73-49 win over Silver Lake. Maeghan Smith had a career-high 14 points and Caroline O'Donnell had 15. Maeve Powers chipped in 11.

Avery Gamble scored 16 points in Oliver Ames' 70-45 win over Sharon.

Notre Dame Academy defeated Archbishop Williams, 65-59, behind 29 points from Ava Orlando. Ella Orlando added 16. Eliana Jackson scored 16 points in the loss while Aivry Devoy added 14.

Jenna Mishou had a game-high 16 points in Whitman-Hanson's 56-38 win over Scituate. Cassidy Briggs added 7 points.

Lilly Blow recorded her fourth consecutive double (15 points, 16 rebounds) as Fontbonne Academy defeated Notre Dame Academy (Worcester), 61-40. Alana MacLean (13 points), Ava Donaghue (11) and Maggie Bedard (10) all finished in double digits.

Christina McA'Nulty scored 12 points to lead Milton to a 47-40 win over Hamilton-Wenham. Vic Fish had a double-double (11 points, 13 rebounds).

Jasmine James and Elle Grant scored 12 points apiece in Thayer Academy's 46-38 loss to St. Paul's.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Odens Massillon (24 points) and Allen Brown (20) led the way as Holbrook defeated Wayland, 67-63. Armani Perkins scored 14.

Maddie Oliver had 25 points, 13 rebounds and 5 steals in Norwell's 51-24 win over Dover-Sherborn. Reagan Dowd added 15 points and 7 rebounds. Paige Maguire returned from a season-long leg injury to pull down 7 rebounds.

Marshfield defeated Quincy, 63-57, as five players finished in double figures. Jake Brilliant led the way with 14 points while Mike Scully had 13. Matt Ellwood (12 points), Giovanni Joseph (11) and James Molloy (10) also contributed.

Matt Delcore scored 35 points in Pembroke's 76-61 win over Plymouth North. Owen Higgins drained eight 3-pointers to finish with 24 points. Sean King had 16 points in the loss while Nelson Thevenin had 14.

North Quincy defeated Silver Lake, 53-51, as Charlie Baker had 15 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks. Jeremy Leonard had 23 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Zach Falls scored 26 points in Duxbury's 62-52 loss to Hanover.

Chase Mello scored 19 points and Killian La Tanzi had 14 rebounds in Hingham's 46-41 win over Plymouth South. Charlie Matthews grabbed 11 rebounds and Noah Manning chipped in 10 points.

Matt Youngquist scored 26 points in Middleboro's 78-62 win over Rockland. Ryan Marzelli added 16.

Dylan Perrault scored 23 points while Isaiah Bean Brittian added 20 in Whitman-Hanson's 71-59 win over Scituate. Jack Williams (9 points), Caleb Baker (10 assists) and Jah Estrela (11 assists) also contributed. Michael Porter had 18 points in the loss.

Five players scored at least eight points for New Heights in a 74-54 win over Dennis-Yarmouth. Christian Dalton had a double-double (16 points, 10 asssits) while Jaylen Thomas and Marvens Laplante each finished with 15 points. Raymond Miller added 12 points and Khamari Gillings had 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Tristan Rodrigues scored 40 points for the second consecutive game in a 69-63 win over Bishop Feehan. That victory clinched a state-tournament spot for the Bishops.

BOYS HOCKEY

Thayer Academy defeated Austin Prep, 8-1, as Michael Federico had a hat trick.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Duxbury defeated Notre Dame Academy, 2-0, on goals from Megan Carney and Reese Porter.

Kate Sullivan scored a hat trick in Thayer Academy's 4-2 win over St. Mark's.

BOYS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

At the Div. 1 state championships at the Reggie Lewis Center, Brockton's Lucas Andrade won the 55-meter hurdles (:7.52), finished second in the high jump (6-6) and was third in the 55m (:6.49) to help the Boxers place third overall in team scoring with 38.33 points. Teammate Antonio Tobon was fifth in the 600m (1:22.95) and ran on the winning 4x400m relay with Jarred Mighty, Brandon Torres and Wolf Victor. That quartet finished in 3:25.52, the best time in the state this season.

BC High was seventh in team scoring, led by Chris Larnard, who won the mile in 4:18.46. Also for the Eagles, John Wilson was third in the 2-mile (9:27.75); Greg McGrath was fourth in the mile (4:23.31); and Christopher Brazeau tied for fifth in the high jump (6-0).

Braintree's James Putnam was fourth in the long jump (21-1.25).

GIRLS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

At the Div. 1 state championships at the Reggie Lewis Center, Weymouth's 4x800m relay of Emma Daley, Kate Carnes, Leah Glavin and Isabella Galusha finished third in 9:49.88, helping the Wildcats tie for 14th in team scoring with 12 points. Also for Weymouth, Galusha was fifth in the 1,000m (3:03.21), and Gracie Richard was seventh in the 600m (1:39.50).

Brockton's Issys Price was sixth in the 55m (:7.45) and eighth in the long jump (16-8). Braintree's Caitlyn Chang was seventh in the 1,000m (3:04.18) and ran on the seventh-place 4x400m relay (4:11.52) with Catherine McPhee, Victoria Barry and Erin Kelley. Braintree's Chloe McGinty was seventh in the high jump (5-0).

Wednesday, Feb. 14

BOYS HOCKEY

Oliver Ames beat Newton South, 5-4, in OT as Matt Lawson and Andrew Livingstone each scored twice, and Patrick DeLoughrey added a goal for the Tigers (11-6-1).

Hingham got goals from six different players -- Mike Garrity, Wilson Fox, Cam McKenna, Robert Dixon, Travis Rugg and Paul Dzavik -- in a 6-2 Senior Night win over Lincoln-Sudbury. The Harbormen (11-6-2) have won three straight.

Scituate's Nate Sannella scored twice to erase a 2-0 deficit, and Luke Ryan's power-play goal late in the third gave the Sailors (15-3-2) a 3-2 win over Plymouth South.

Abington's Hunter Grafton (hat trick) recorded his 100th career point on a shorthanded goal that was assisted by his brother Matthew Grafton, in a 7-5 road win over St. John Paul II. Evan St. Martin had the winning goal. The Green Wave (8-9-1) have won three straight.

Pembroke beat North Quincy, 3-0, on goals from Nathan Hackett, Ryan Conway and Colin Blake. The Titans (10-5-3) clinched a clinched a Div. 3 playoff spot.

Stoughton/Brockton's Jake McSweeney scored the lone goal in a 7-1 loss to Dartmouth, assisted by Ryan Summers and goalie Dmytro Yakovenko (35 saves).

Cohasset/Hull's Taighe Dwyer had a hat trick, and Luke Dunham and Luke Mullen each scored twice in an 11-3 win over Blue Hills.

Rockland's Patrick McGuirk and Cooper Larouco each had a pair of goals and an assist in a 6-4 win over Mashpee/Monomoy. Jack Blonde (goal, 2 assists) and David Kane (goal, assist) also contributed for the Bulldogs (5-14).

Duxbury's Brady Walsh and Chris Gillis scored in a 2-1 win over Plymouth North.

Braintree edged Milton, 3-2, in overtime.

Whitman-Hanson's Domenic Visocchi and Zakk Spano scored in a 2-0 win over Silver Lake. Nick Zaccaria made 15 saves for his second shutout of the season.

West/East Bridgewater's Christian Bates completed his team's first hat trick of the season by netting the tiebreaking goal with under 2 minutes remaining in a 4-3 win over South Shore Tech. Tyler Henderson had the other goal, and Brayden Bates made 40 saves.

BC High's Chris Brennick scored twice in a 5-2 come-from-behind Senior Night win over St. Mary's (Lynn). Owen Welch, of Milton, added a goal and 2 assists for the Eagles (7-9-1), and Brendan McCarthy (Hanover) and Tommy Halloran (Milton) also found the net.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Braintree's Emma Walsh and Milton's Molly Murphy traded goals in a 1-1 tie. Goaltender Lila Chamoun made 32 saves for Milton (15-3-1, 12-0-1 Bay State Conference). Goalie Bella Corcoran was sharp for Braintree (8-7-3).

Archbishop Williams' Caroline Batchelder scored twice and Julie Murphy and Aliya Greenwood added goals in a 4-1 win over Pope Francis. Batchelder became the program's all-time leader in goals with 56; the old record was 54.

Marshfield's Morgan Murphy pitched a shutout in a 4-0 win over Norwell/Scituate/Abington. The Rams (12-7) have won eight in a row.

Hingham's Caroline Doherty had a hat trick in a 3-0 win over Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake, which got a strong game from goalie Sadie Watchorn. The Harborwomen are 14-5-1.

Plymouth North/South beat Quincy/North Quincy, 4-0.

BOYS BASKETBALL

In the Don Byron Memorial Classic, visiting Abington got big games from Tyler Staiti (23 points, 5 assists) and Kingston Maxwell (20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) in a 69-63 win over Oliver Ames. Connor Pease (10 points, 7 rebounds) and Jake McSharry (10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists) also contributed for the Green Wave (14-5). Justin Grimaldi scored 18 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter for OA (4-14), and Zack Ivanoski added 18 points.

Christian Dalton had 24 points, 6 assists and 5 steals as top-seeded New Heights Charter beat No. 8 Excel Academy, 78-50, in the Massachusetts Charter School Athletic Organization quarterfinals. Jonathon Theresias (13 points, 10 rebounds), Marvens Laplante (10 points, 4 steals) and Jaylen Thomas (8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals) also starred for the Phoenix. New Heights will host Collegiate Charter of Lowell on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the semifinals. The MCSAO final will be played Saturday at UMass-Boston.

Whitman-Hanson's Caleb Baker and Isaiah Bean Brittian led five players in double-figures with 16 points each in an 89-57 win over North Quincy. Jason Paretchan and Dylan Perrault each added 12 points, and Jack Williams chipped in with 11 for the Panthers (14-5). North Quincy (4-13) got 21 points each from Kobe Nguyen and Hunter Wood (7 rebounds).

Scituate's Michael Porter had 22 points and 7 rebounds, and Brian Good added 16 points and 7 boards in a 71-63 Senior Night win over Marshfield. Joey Burke (9 points) and Roman Glowac (6 points, 11 rebounds) also contributed for the Sailors (17-3). The Rams (8-9) were led by Brody Lauria (16 points), Jake Brilliant (15) and James Malloy (14).

Carver's Robbie Peterson (20 points), Tyler Lennox (15) and Nate Helms (12) starred in a 70-46 win over Westport for the Crusaders (12-6).

Silver Lake's Jeremy Leonard scored a career-high 24 points in a 44-43 win over Quincy. Fellow senior Nick Naujalis added 10 points for the Lakers.

Rising Tide Charter's Ian Thompson scored 17 points, and Dylan Dormady added 15 in a 91-52 loss to Atlantis Charter.

Cardinal Spellman's D'Anthony Amado hit seven 3-pointers en route to 28 points in a 67-50 win over Southeastern. He also added 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Marvin Petit-Frere had 17 points for Spellman (8-11).

Thayer Academy's Marquis White (14 points) and Lenny Tangishaka (12 points) starred in a 69-56 win over BB&N.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Weymouth's Megan Doyle scored 33 points, pushing her past the 1,000-point mark for her career, in a 68-58 win over Newton North. Doyle is the second girl and the fifth player overall in school history to reach the milestone. She added 14 rebounds and 8 steals for the Wildcats (14-4 overall, 9-4 Bay State Conference). Callie Flynn (12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 blocks) and Abby Morris (12 points) also starred.

Quincy's Alyssa Hopps scored 22 points in a 53-27 win over Silver Lake. Niamh Gendron (10 points) and Taylor Mann (8) also contributed for the Presidents (16-3).

On Senior Night, Hanover seniors Olivia Damon (15 points), Mary Kate Flynn (12 points, 11 rebounds) and McKenzie Foley (11 points) starred in a 57-32 win over Plymouth North. Junior Noey Giardina added 11 points for the Hawks (13-4).

East Bridgewater's Shania Gardner scored 25 points in a 65-55 win over Barnstable. Janna Oman (11 points) and Jackie Pohl (10) also contributed for the Vikings (12-7).

Marshfield's Maddie Devin scored 13 points in a 42-29 win over Scituate on Senior Night. Scituate's Isabella Burns had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks.

Whitman-Hanson's Jenna Mishou had 18 points and 11 rebounds in a 45-42 road win over North Quincy. The Panthers are 14-3 overall (13-2 Patriot League). North Quincy's Ava Bryan was 7-for-7 on free throws and scored 22 points.

Carver's Julia Grimes scored 28 points in a 77-59 win over Pope John Paul II. Julia Fernandes (21 points) and Sarah Stairs (16) also starred for the Crusaders, who raised money for cancer research at Carver vs. Cancer game.

Bridgewater-Raynham's Camden Strandberg had 22 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in a 44-34 win over Durfee. Brenna Woodbury added 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the Trojans (14-6, 6-2 Southeast Conference), who gave coach Cheryl Seavey her 150th career victory in 11 total seasons (9 at B-R, 2 at Middleboro from 1997-99).

BOYS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

At the Div. 5 state championships at the Reggie Lewis Center, Norwell's Thomas Corbett was third in the mile (4:36.18) and fifth in the 2-mile (10:00.85) and ran on the the second-place 4x800m relay (8:35.07) with Alex Bello, Maxwell Jervey and Jack Twombly as the Clippers tied for third in team scoring with 35 points. Norwell's Noah Mulligan was third in the 300m (:35.85) and ran on the Clippers' second-place 4x400m relay (3:29.28) with Brody McVay, Griffin Murphy and Sam Pesko.

Carver's Camren Allain was the lone local winner, taking the high jump at a personal-best 6-8. He also was fourth in the long jump (20-6.25). Teammate Luke Holden was fourth in the 1,000m (2:39.80).

East Bridgewater's Chris Oman was third in both the 55m (:6.62) and long jump (20-8.25) and ran on the fourth-place 4x200m relay (1:34.56) with Gavin McLoud, Denis O'Donovan and Emmanuel Nelson. EB's Brennan Shea was fourth in the 55m hurdles (:8.32).

Randolph's Mekhi White (:6.54) was second in the 55m, and West Bridgewater's Kenly Laime was third in the high jump (6-0).

GIRLS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

At the Div. 5 state championships at the Reggie Lewis Center, Norwell's Liliana MacDonald won the 55m hurdles (:8.54) and was second in the long jump (17-2.75), helping the Clippers finish fourth in team scoring with 31 points. Norwell's Ariana Veneto was fourth in the mile (5:29.39), and ran on the Clippers' fourth-place 4x800m relay (10:21.24) with Jessica Lee, Alexandra Ning and Hannah Morse.

West Bridgewater's Ella Dunbury was runner-up in the 2-mile (11:41.83), and teammate Aly Bassett was third in the 55m hurdles (:8.98). Rockland's Emilee Dunham was fourth in the 300m (:42.03), and East Bridgewater's Grace Schnell was fourth in the long jump (16-4.75). Fifth-place finishes came from Hull's Elsie Harper in the 55m hurdles (:9.08); EB's Schephatia Feron in the shot put (31-10.75); and Carver's Carly Peterson in the high jump (5-0).

Monday, Feb. 12

BOYS HOCKEY

Dave Pittenger scored two goals and added an assist in Duxbury's 6-1 win over Hanover. Will Atallah and Brady Walsh each had a goal and an assist. Mike Hussey handed out a pair of assists.

Abington defeated Cohasset/Hull, 4-3, in overtime on Sam McDonald's winning tally. Hunter Grafton, Evan St. Martin and Cullen Crocker had the other goals in the win. Luke Dunham, Barrett Kelly and Luke Mullen scored in the loss.

Middleboro defeated Stoughton/Brockton, 6-1, as James Joyce had two goals and three assists. Owen Dupont scored the lone goal in the loss.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Celia Benson, Morgan McGathey and Kate Sullivan scored in Thayer's 5-3 loss to Lawrence.

BOYS BASKETBALL

New Heights defeated Calvary Chapel Academy, 58-32. Cash Babineau scored 13 points in the loss.

Holbrook defeated Boston Collegiate Charter, 67-41. The win was No. 500 for coach Rich Gifford.

Cohasset defeated Randolph, 36-34, behind 13 points from Will Henle and 9 from Jack Cullinan.

Tyler Carini scored 14 points in South Shore Tech's 54-46 win over Tri-County. Todd Egan added 10.

Braintree defeated Milton, 43-33, and clinched a state-tournament berth. Ethan Elie scored 10 points in the win.

Southeastern defeated Westport, 68-56.

Justin Grimaldi scored 22 points in a 59-58 loss to Sharon for Oliver Ames. Jefferson Smock added 13 points.

Canton defeated Foxboro, 75-63.

Lenny Tangishaka scored 17 points in Thayer's 74-53 loss to Choate.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Notre Dame Academy defeated Cardinal Spellman, 59-29, behind 21 points from Elle Orlando. Ava Orlando and Lola Griffin each chipped in 10. Lucy LaCara scored 8 points in the loss.

Hailey Iwanski scored 17 points as Middleboro defeated Hull, 73-36. Lily Price added 16. Margot Harper scored 11 in the loss.

Bella Sulfaro had a double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) as Blue Hills defeated Randolph, 46-25. Ally Johnson chipped in 13 points while freshman Jenna Lehane had a career-high 7 points.

Dylan Hurley and Jenna Mishou each scored 9 points in Whitman-Hanson's 51-29 loss to Bishop Fenwick.

Freshman Madison McDonald had a double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds) in Abington's 54-40 loss to Apponequet. Ella Williamson scored 13 points while Rebecca Rix had 14 rebounds.

East Bridgewater lost to Sandwich, 54-52, in overtime. Jenna Oman scored 23 points.

Falmouth defeated Hanover, 37-32. Noey Giardina scored 16 points in the loss.

Fontbonne defeated Ursuline, 54-40, behind Lily Blow's third consecutive double-double (19 points, 15 rebounds, 4 blocks). Tressa Murphy and Alana MacLean each had 10 points.

New Heights lost to Prospect Hill Academy, 43-34, in the quarterfinals of MCSAO State Tournament. Jizzelle Stephney scored 22 points in the loss while Naziiah Herisse added 13.
