Brad Brownell gives injury updates for multiple players as the season approaches

Clemson men’s basketball head coach Brad Brownell gave an update recently on the health of multiple Tigers as the team continues to practice, with the season just a month away.

A few players are now dealing with injuries on this team, but Brownell didn’t mention anything serious. Things could have been a lot worse for this team, especially with the news we heard last week of sophomore guard Josh Beadle suffering injuries in a car accident.

“Some people know Josh Beadle, unfortunately, was in a car accident last week. And you know, it’s lucky that it wasn’t worse than it was. But he did suffer a broken nose and a concussion. And so, he’s gonna be out a couple more weeks, probably. He needs to have surgery next week, so that’s a little bit of a setback,” Brownell said.

Another Clemson guard, Alex Hemenway, is trending in the right the right direction. He’s not 100% yet, but he is getting there.

“Alex Hemenway’s doing much better. You know, close to 90%, I would say in terms of, of health and movement. Then there’s just some nagging things that come with kind of getting back at it every day,” Brownell said.

On the transfer side of things, graduate transfer forward Jack Clark has been limited since joining the Tigers. Brownell hopes he’ll be ready for the start of the season.

“Jack Clark is going to start moving closer towards practice; he still has not been able to get healthy with his second surgery,” Brownell said.

Clemson’s season starts Nov. 6 against Winthrop at 7 p.m.
