Boys basketball roundup: Sexton tops Olivet to stay perfect in CAAC White

SEXTON 64, OLIVET 61

OLIVET — Keyshawn Summerville had 22 points to help the J-Dubbs remain unbeaten in the CAAC White with their win over Olivet in a matchup of teams receiving votes in Division 2. DeQuarius Jones added 12 points for Sexton (10-4, 9-0). Bo Lincoln led Olivet (11-5, 6-3) with 22 points, five rebounds and four steals. Bryce Wine added 16 points and three steals and Tayven Feldpausch scored 11 points and dished out four assists for the Eagles.

DEWITT 52, GRAND LEDGE 35

DEWITT — Adam Flannery had a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds for the Panthers in their CAAC Blue victory. Zach Nevison added nine points for DeWitt (11-5, 3-4). Alex Moran had 14 points and Braden James scored seven for Grand Ledge.

WAVERLY 86, HOLT 74 (OT)

The Warriors (12-4, 5-2) outscored Holt, 20-8, in the extra period while recording the CAAC Blue victory. Carter Bishop had 24 points and Brandon Mercer had 22 points to lead Holt. Donye Thomas contributed 17 points for the Rams (5-10, 1-6).

IONIA 58, PORTLAND 38

IONIA — Colt Piercefield scored a team-high 13 points for the Bulldogs as Ionia secured a CAAC White home win over Portland. Max Doty tallied a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Spencer Tooker chipped in 12 points for Ionia (7-9, 3-6). Dom Novara finished with a team-high 10 points for the Raiders (9-5, 4-5).

EATON RAPIDS 47, LAKEWOOD 39

LAKE ODESSA — Ethan Gaston, Braylon Nobach and Andrew Pant each notched a team-high 10 points to lead the Greyhounds (8-8, 4-5) to a CAAC White road win over Lakewood. Logan Faulkner led all scorers with 12 points and Landon Makley tacked on 10 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Vikings (2-14, 0-8).

PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA 68, POTTERVILLE 33

WESTPHALIA — Grady Eklund secured a game-high 20 points to push the Pirates to a CMAC home victory over Potterville. Dominic Weber scored 16 points and Brady Heckman tacked on six points for Pewamo-Westphalia (13-2, 10-2). Jacob Bishop tallied a team-high seven points and Reid Jackson, Kaleb Batterham and Ezariah Taylor each chipped in six points for the Vikings (6-10, 4-8).

WEBBERVILLE 58, MORRICE 34

MORRICE — Dylan Rhodes tallied 18 points, six assists and two steals to lead the Spartans to a nonleague win over Morrice. Michael Bialke picked up 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Daxton Figuer chipped in nine points for Webberville (7-7). Oliver Long scored a team-high 11 points for the Orioles (4-10). ALMA — Cade Sutherland had 15 points and Jacoby Dunlap had 10 points for the Panthers in their TVC loss.

GOODRICH 60, OWOSSO 32

OWOSSO — Michael Combs finished with a team-high nine points for the Trojans in a Flint Metro League loss to Goodrich (12-5, 6-1). Evan Norton and Paul Hrncharik tacked on six points each for Owosso (1-13, 1-6).
