Boys basketball: McDuffie named first-team all-state among 25 Section 9 honorees

A total of 25 boys were named to the all-state basketball teams, as selected by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Seventeen were chosen from the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association and eight from the Mid-Hudson Athletic League.

Chapel Field junior Jonah McDuffie was the lone local representative on a first team, in Class D. Third-team choices were Deondre Johnson of Newburgh Free Academy in Class AA (he’s going to play football at Rutgers) and Patrick Faughnan of Our Lady of Lourdes in Class A.
