Bob Costas Unleashed a Weird, Dead-Relative Burn Last Night

During last night's Cubs-Cardinals game, MLB Network's legendary Bob Costas did a zany thing with words that he probably shouldn't have. As the clip above shows, Cubs pitcher Pedro Strop pointed to the sky as he was coming out of a less-than-fantastic game. As a result, a seemingly frustrated (or maybe just grumpy) Costas remarked: "We can only ask, or wonder that he is asking, some departed relative for forgiveness for this atrocious performance." What? Costas has either been moonlighting as a medium lately and not telling anyone, or he was feeling really creative with his commentary last night. Or both. A handful of viewers praised this epic dis, but others have been calling for Costas' head, as well as an apology. For the meantime, we're going to file his comments under things better left unsaid. As for the Cubs, they ended up losing this game 2-3, but will have a chance at redemption again tonight at 7:15 p.m. ET.
