Blue Jays reunite with Ben Revere on a minor-league deal

The Toronto Blue Jays have reached a minor-league deal with one of their old trade deadline acquisitions from the 2015 playoff run that saw them reach the ALCS.

The team announced early Saturday evening that it has signed outfielder Ben Revere, who appeared most recently in 2017 for the Los Angeles Angels, hitting .275/.308/.344 with 21 stolen bases over 109 games.

Speed has been Revere’s main calling card throughout his eight year MLB career, racking up 211 steals in 857 career games. He played 56 regular season games with the Blue Jays in 2015 down the stretch, hitting .319/.354/.381 while leading off the majority of games.

The 30-year-old played a handful of minor-league games in the Angels system last season and started off the 2019 season on a minor-league deal with the Texas Rangers.

Revere will report to extended spring training on April 30th in hopes of reaching the majors with the Blue Jays.
