EASTERN GREENE 4, MOORESVILLE CHRISTIAN 3: T-Birds (1-6-3) get the first win in program history. Eastern led 2-1 at halftime as each team scored twice in the second half. Ethan Moffitt and Finn Wulbrandt each scored twice. Compete match stats at MaxPreps.

EVANSVILLE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT: Bloomington North (7-7-2) fell to 2A No. 7 Memorial, 3-1 on Friday, with the Tigers scoring two second-half goals. Then the Cougars came back Saturday to beat Sheridan 1-0 with a second-half goal.

Volleyball

SOUTHERN ROADS CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT: Lighthouse Christian fell in the title game to Pleasant View Christian, 21-25, 25-10, 15-10. The Lions (14-7) opened with wins over Seven Oaks, 25-16, 25-11 and Columbus Christian 25-20, 25-8.

MARTINSVILLE TOURNAMENT: Bloomington North (14-6) went 2-1, falling to Indianapolis North Central (22-4) 25-15, 25-15 then beating Mt. Vernon (Posey) 20-25, 25-18, 15-10 and the host Artesians 25-16, 23-25, 15-6.

Boys' tennis

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 5, MOORESVILLE 0: Cougars (10-3) sweep to end regular season. 1. Connor O’Guinn 6-2, 6-1; 2. Brady Murphy 6-0, 6-0; 3. Paul Macy 6-2, 6-1; Doubles 1. Seth Force & Casey McIntyre 6-3, 6-1; 2. Esteban Crespo & Ben Konisky 6-0, 6-2.

Friday, Sept. 22

Football

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 59, SOUTHPORT 0: Panthers (5-1, 3-1) crush the Cardinals (0-6, 0-2), who have lost 28 straight. Strong running night for South, which gained 296 yards on the ground, led by Gavin Adams (17-149, TD), Ben Morrison 4-59, TD) and QB Jarrin Alley (6-46, 2TDs). Duke Conrad got the rout started by taking a fumble 20 yards for a score just eight seconds into the game. Special teams also blocked a field goal attempt and a punt. It was 17-0 after one period and 45-zip by halftime. It was South's second shutout of the season, the first time that's happened since 2016. Game stats at MaxPreps.

INDIAN CREEK 44, EDGEWOOD 25: Braves (3-3, 2-0 WIC) go up 44-13 after three periods as Edgewood (1-5, 0-2) puts up two late scores but still drops its fifth straight.

PAOLI 57, EASTERN GREENE 27: It was a nice, quiet first quarter with Paoli leading 8-0 before a crazy 44-point second period let the Rams (5-1) pull away to a fifth straight win. Paoli jumped up 30-7, saw Eastern score with 57 seconds left and then answered with one second to halftime to go up 38-14. Paoli rushed for 399 yards to offset 311 yards rushing and 102 passing by the T-Birds (3-3), who also had three critical turnovers. James Lewis rushed for 168 yards and Evan Ferkingstad had 14 tackles to lead the defense. Complete game stats at MaxPreps.

SULLIVAN 27, OWEN VALLEY 7: The Arrows (3-3, 1-1) jumped up 20-7 by halftime and hung on. The Patriots' (2-4, 1-2) lone score came late in the second quarter on a touchdown pass from Elijah Anderson to Jack Dubois.

EVANSVILLE MEMORIAL 3, BLOOMINGTON NORTH 1: Cougars (6-7-2) went into halftime tied but saw the 2A No. 7 Tigers (9-6) pull away in the opener of the Evansville Memorial Tournament. Chloe Hendrix-Petry had the goal for North. Match stats at MaxPreps.

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 1, COLUMBUS EAST 1: Both teams scored in the first half and settled for a tie in the rescheduled contest. North (8-4-4)

CENTER GROVE 3, BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 0: Trojans (18-3) roll by Panthers (9-14), 25-20, 25-10, 25-11 for a seventh straight win.

EDGEWOOD 5, BROWN COUNTY 0: Mustangs go to 6-2 in WIC play. 1S. Andrew Paul won 6-3, 6-0; 2S. Carter Cheaney won 6-3, 6-1; 3S. Austin Nunn won 6-4, 4-6, (10-8). 1D. Quinn Norris/Mitch Deckard won 6-1, 6-1; 2D. Dannie Chandler/Dane Weisner won 6-1, 6-0.

Tuesday, Sept. 19

Volleyball

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 3, BEDFORD NORTH LAWRENCE 0: Coming off a successful 3-1 run in the Terre Haute South Invitational, the Panthers (9-12) took down the Stars, 25-13, 25-13, 25-17. Match stats at MaxPreps.

TERRE HAUTE SOUTH 3, BLOOMINGTON NORTH 0: Any chance at a share of a Conference Indiana title for the Cougars (11-5, 2-2) disappeared with a 25-20, 25-19, 25-21 win by THS (16-5, 4-0). Match stats at MaxPreps.

EDGEWOOD 3, GREENWOOD CHRISTIAN 0: The Mustangs (17-4) made quick work of the Cougars, 25-7, 25-21, 25-17.

SHAKAMAK 3, LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN 0: Missing it's starting setter due to injury, the Lions (12-6) struggled in a 25-5, 25-10, 25-16 loss to the Lakers. Match stats at MaxPreps.

EASTERN GREENE 3, BLOOMFIELD 1: The T-Birds (6-14, 2-2) stop a losing streak with a 25-17, 25-19, 20-25, 26-24 SWIAC win. Match stats at MaxPreps.

Cross country

GREENE COUNTY INVITATIONAL: Eastern Greene swept the boys and girls titles, which are based on total time for the top five runners and not points. Jade Dawes won the boys' race in 17:11.6 and Roman Valentine was fourth as the T-Bird boys had five in the top 11. Lilyanna Blais (19:47.0), Esther Crane and Zoe Crites went 2-3-5 to pace the T-Bird girls as Linton's Peyton Smith won in 18:51.2. Complete results at timingmd.net

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 1, FRANKLIN 1: Jaafer Zaneer scored a second-half goal to lift the Cougars (8-4-3) to a tie with the Grizzly Cubs (9-2-1).

Girls' soccer

WHITE RIVER VALLEY 1, EDGEWOOD 0: A second-half goal was all the Wolverines (10-1) needed.

Boys' tennis

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 4, TERRE HAUTE SOUTH 1: Cougars (9-2, 4-0) pull out tough win to set up showdown with No. 2 Columbus North on Thursday for Conference Indiana title. Brady Murphy won 6-3, 6-2 and Paul Macy wins 6-0, 6-1 at 2 and 3 singles before Seth Force and Casey McIntyre rally from down 5-2 in the second set for a 7-5, 7-5 sweep. Connor O’Guinn then rallied for a three-hour win, 4-6, 7-6 (8), 6-3 at 1 singles. Esteban Crespo and Ben Konisky fell 7-5, 7-6(3) at 2 doubles.

Monday, Sept. 18

Girls' soccer

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 2, COLUMBUS NORTH 1: The No. 12 Panthers get first half goals from Valerie Bunde and Katherine Lacy and hang on in the second half to complete the sweep of Conference Indiana, again.

CENTER GROVE 4, BLOOMINGTON NORTH 0: Trojans (5-4-1) put game away with three goals in the second half. Cougars fall to 6-6-2.

EDGEWOOD 6, SULLIVAN 0: Mustangs (7-4, 4-1 WIC) hammer Arrows in conference action as Emma Edwards scores three goals, raising her total to 19 on the season, while Parker Witt nets two and Zhenia Venegas knocks in one to end a two-match skid.

Boys' soccer

EDGEWOOD 5, SULLIVAN 1: Mustangs (5-4-1, 4-2 WIC) score the last four goals to blow out Arrows.

BLOOMFIELD 6, EASTERN GREENE 4: T-Birds finally get to play on their home field for the first time and lose a close one as Cardinals score last three goals to erase 4-3 deficit. Griffin Hengeveld had a hat trick for Eastern (0-4-3) while Maddox Ault scored as well. Match stats at MaxPreps.

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 5, MARTINSVILLE 0: Cougars cruise to 8-2 overall with sweep. Connor O'Guinn, Brady Murphy and Paul Macy all win their singles matches 6-0, 6-0. At doubles, Seth Force & Casey McIntyre won 6-0, 6-1 and Esteban Crespo & Ben Konisky win 6-0, 6-0.

EDGEWOOD 5, SOUTH PUTNAM 0: Quick WIC win for Mustangs with 6-0, 6-0 sweeps at all three singles spots by Andrew Paul, Mitch Deckard and Carter Cheaney and No. 1 doubles team of Quinn Norris and Dane Weisner. Dannie Chandler and Jailyn Luedemann win at 2 doubles by forfeit.

Volleyball

WHITE RIVER VALLEY 3, LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN 0: Wolverines take down Lions (12-5), 25-15, 25-22, 25-12 to end LCA's six-match win streak as Claire Beretta suffers minor injury.
