Gold Cup Live: United States vs. Jamaica in semifinals
The United States finally got to take a break from the Gold Cup's intensity and relax a ltitle in Saturday's 6-0 quarterfinal rout of Cuba, but the Americans wouldn't have that luxury against Jamaica in Wednesday's semifinal at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
The Reggae Boyz embraced their underdog role under German coach Winfried Schaefer and ended up shocking the U.S. early with two first-half goals by Darren Mattocks and Giles Barnes. The Americans mounted a second-half comeback behind captain Michael Bradley, but Jamaica survived to secure a 2-1 victory and advance to Sunday's final.
