Daniel Sedin’s mouth is bloody mess after puck swat (Video)

The puck flew in the air. Daniel Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks attempted to swat it with his stick. Arizona Coyotes defenseman Mark Stone attempted to swat it with his glove.

It was Stone that connected – with the puck and, unfortunately, Sedin’s face.

Down went Sedin on Monday night, sliding into the corner. As he got up off the ice, drops of blood trickled from his mouth.

As he got to the bench, Sedin opened his mouth to show the Canucks’ trainer the damage and revealed a smile that makes Sloth from “The Goonies” look like Anne Hathaway by comparison.

Yikes.

That would be Daniel Sedin’s last shift of the first period, but he opened the second period for the Canucks. And because hockey is hockey, Sedin would score later in the game:

Obviously the first thing on our minds is that Daniel is OK, as this was a rather brutal scene. The second thing on our minds was that Henrik is OK, because obviously he’s the one who actually feels pain in this situation, as per Tomax/Xamot twin magic rules.
