If you ever wondered how many tires were used in the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, well you're in luck. Before you guess, just know that $35 million was spent on tires last year.

On a typical race weekend, a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team will use between nine and fourteen sets of tires depending upon the length of the race and type of track - short track, speedway, superspeedway or road course.

Here are some fast facts: The number of sets allowed per each team varies based upon the type of track and the length of the race. Each tire costs uopwards around $500 each, and teams can spend an average of over $20K for a single race. Tires often last about one-hundred miles on a NASCAR tracks. They average 11.5 inches wide with a weight two-dozen pounds each. Goodyear one of the leading manufactures, produces 18 different  types of tires for NASCAR teams over an entire season.
