Bleacher Report says Ravens WR ready to ascend to star status in sophomore season

The Baltimore Ravens have plenty of young talent at the wide receiver position that are ready to prove themselves. After the trade of wide receiver Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals on 2022 draft night, the team will have to rely on two second-year players and two third-year players as their top four wideouts.

When naming players in their second year that are ready to ascend to star status, Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report named Baltimore wide receiver Rashod Bateman on his list, talking about how his rookie season in 2021 showed plenty of promise, and with an increased role could get to showcase his skillset even more in 2022.

“As a rookie, Bateman finished third on the team with 46 receptions for 515 yards. However, he missed the first five games of the season with an injured groin and didn’t quite live up to expectations upon returning to the field…Now, he’ll be the featured target among the team’s wide receivers. Bateman has the speed, versatility and creativity after the catch to be a true No. 1 target. The Ravens offense may feature a unique ground attack, but Jackson was well on his way to setting a new personal record in pass attempts last season if not for an injured ankle.”
