Bike to the beach and enjoy a boxed lunch from Partners Village Store in Westport

WESTPORT — The days are getting longer, and the weather is getting warmer.

There’s a whole summer up ahead, full of the possibilities of warm-weather adventures.

Partners Village Store, 865 Main Road, is helping locals kickstart that summer fun with Bike to the Beach.

Guests will be able to sign up for a leisurely bike ride to different beaches on the SouthCoast, and at the end, enjoy a boxed lunch from Partners.

Partners owner Lydia Gollner told The Herald News that their first trip was to Elephant Rock, and that it was “a nice cool ride.”

She also said that most community response so far has been for upcoming rides, with the promise of better weather.

  • June 18: Round Hill Beach in Dartmouth, 11.3 miles one way

All riders must bring their own water bottles — and their own bikes! — and wear a helmet.

The boxed lunch is $15.95, and comes with a sandwich, chips and a cookie.

Gollner said there are three sandwich options to choose from, and that usually one is vegetarian.

Riders should sign up by the Friday before the ride takes place, and on the morning of the ride, meet at Partners around 8 a.m., for an 8:30 departure.
