Big 12 Conference releases schedule for Kansas women’s basketball, coach Brandon Schneider
LAWRENCE — Kansas women’s basketball’s path to a Big 12 Conference regular season title is clear, now, with the release of the Jayhawks’ conference slate Tuesday.
The Jayhawks are coming off of a season in which they finished seventh in the Big 12, before a quick exit in the conference tournament and a run to win the 2023 Postseason WNIT. While their roster is revamped in many ways, there are still a number of high-profile players who have returned. And how they fare will go a long ways to determining if they can reach the NCAA tournament for the second time in three years.
“Teams will face five Big 12 opponents twice and eight conference foes once,” a KU release stated. “Opponents were selected based on a combination of geography, historical results and a poll of the coaches to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitiveness.”
Complete television information did not come with the release, but Kansas does know it will start Big 12 play against West Virginia on Dec. 30 at home. Its first road game against a conference opponent will come the following contest, Jan. 3 at Iowa State.
