Big 12 basketball: Who Oklahoma State men and women will play on upcoming season schedule

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s longstanding and budding Big 12 rivals will remain intact for home-and-home series in the upcoming college basketball seasons.

And that includes Bedlam in the final season both OSU and OU are members of the conference for both men’s and women’s basketball, the league announced Thursday when it released the conference schedule pairings for all 14 teams.

Gone is the home-and-home slate against all Big 12 teams. That will be a thing of the past with the expanded conference, likely even after OU and Texas depart for the SEC and 12 teams remain.

Each team will play five home-and-home series, host four other teams and travel to four other locations. Opponents were selected based on a combination of geography, historical results and a poll of coaches.

For both OSU teams, the schedule kept some intriguing matchups.

The Cowboys get the Sooners at home and on the road along with Kansas, Kansas State and Texas Tech, all natural matchups considered to be budding rivalries. Newcomer BYU is the other lone team the Cowboys play twice.

OSU will also welcome back former star point guard Avery Anderson III to Gallagher-Iba Arena when it hosts TCU.

The Cowgirls also get a Bedlam home-and-home plus two games with budding rival Texas Tech. OSU swept the series with Tech last season, even winning a triple-overtime game in Lubbock, Texas. OSU also gets two games with Baylor, another team the Cowgirls swept.

The schedule will be finalized with dates and times at a later date.
