Best Fantasy Football waiver wire pickups for Week 16

After the 15th full slate of regular season action, nearly every fantasy football league should be in their playoffs.

If you had a tough injury in Week 15, or you just didn’t get the production from one of your players that you expected, we’ll scan the waiver wire. For potential pickups, we’ll consider players who are available in at least 50% of ESPN fantasy leagues.

Let’s take a look at some of the potential waiver wire pickups that could help your teams heading into Week 16 of the NFL campaign.

Mayfield has been perfectly average this season, as he’s fantasy’s 15th-ranked quarterback, averaging 16.6 points per week.

Going up against the 30th-ranked Jacksonville Jaguars defense, the former top pick should be a streaming option this week.

With Alexander Mattison out last week, Chandler got the starting reps and made the most of those opportunities.

He rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 5.7 yards per attempt while recording another 25 yards on three receptions for 24.7 fantasy points.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell said that Chandler is going to see a featured role in his offense, even if Mattison returns to action this week.

Noah Brown, WR, Houston Texans (40.0%)

Without Tank Dell or Nico Collins last week, Noah Brown was the go-to guy for Davis Mills, recording 22.2 fantasy points on eight receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Collins should return this week, but Brown should still be a top option for Houston as they make a push for the NFL playoffs in their first year under DeMeco Ryans.

Hunter Henry, TE, New England Patriots (17.5%)

Bailey Zappe has found his weapon in the Patriots offense, and his name is Hunter Henry.

Over the last two weeks, Henry has recorded 38.6 fantasy points on 10 receptions for 106 yards and three scores.

A knee injury forced him out of Sunday’s loss, but if he’s ready to go against the Denver Broncos in Week 16, he’s a solid option at the position.

Colts, D/ST (37.2%)

The Colts have had the sixth-best fantasy defense, averaging 8.7 points per game, and, in their last six games, they’ve averaged 15.07 points.

This week, they’ll take on the Atlanta Falcons, who have been far from dynamic on offense. And, while the change to Taylor Heinicke at quarterback does raise their ceiling a bit, it provides for some unpredictability and a chance at some turnovers.
