Bengals set huge viewership numbers during game against 49ers
The throwdown between the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers was big business for the NFL.
Thrown into a late-afternoon timeslot on CBS, the game churned out huge numbers.
Per CBS, the cross-conference battle earned 26 million viewers, the most for a Week 8 game dating back to 1998.
That’s a massive number for the commonly primetime Joe Burrow-led Bengals. The 49ers have a huge fanbase and the game was a showcase of two playoff and even Super Bowl hopefuls, but it still speaks to just how far the Bengals have come.
And just a week later, it wouldn’t be a stunner to see the Bengals involved in some viewership records again as they host “Sunday Night Football” against the Buffalo Bills, a re-upping of the two matchups from last year, the first that got called off after the Damar Hamlin injury and the second from the playoffs.
