Bemidji clamps down, concedes season-low 23 points in win over Hibbing

Dec. 19—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji High School girls basketball team once again brought its elite defense to the court at the BHS Gymnasium.

The Lumberjacks held visiting Hibbing to 23 points, setting a new season low in a 44-23 home win over the Bluejackets.

BHS (5-3) defended at its most impressive rate over the first 18 minutes, holding Hibbing (1-6) to just 10 points. The Jacks managed 22 themselves in each half to easily pull away by the end.

Clara Bieber paced Bemidji with 12 points, while Katey Milbrandt chipped in 11. Tara Hertling led the Bluejackets with 10 points.
