April 25 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Monday's Major League Baseball games. Rays 2, Orioles 0 Tampa Bay Rays starter Chris Archer won for the first time since August, ending a 10-start winless streak with a gem against the Baltimore Orioles. Archer struck out 10 in 6 2/3 shutout innings as Tampa Bay pulled out a 2-0 win on Monday night at Tropicana Field. Archer (1-4) had been 0-7 with a 6.39 ERA in his previous 10 starts, but found his old form against the division-leading Orioles (11-7). The Rays (9-10) won for the fourth time this season when scoring three runs or fewer, with Curt Casali driving in both runs. Tigers 7, Athletics 3 Miguel Cabrera broke out of a slump with four hits, including a pair of home runs, and Jordan Zimmermann won for the fourth time in as many starts as Detroit topped Oakland at Comerica Park. Cabrera, who was batting .206 with one home run entering the game, drove in four runs as Detroit ended a four-game losing streak. Red Sox 1, Braves 0 Boston right-hander Rich Porcello added to Atlanta's offensive woes, improving his record to 4-0 at the expense of the Braves. Porcello allowed just four hits over 6 1/3 innings and Jackie Bradley Jr. broke up a pitching duel with Julio Teheran by homering in the seventh inning as Boston posted a 1-0 interleague victory. Mets 5, Reds 3 Neil Walker hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer in the seventh inning Monday night as the New York Mets remained red hot with a 5-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Citi Field. Michael Conforto homered in the first, scored three runs and finished a triple shy of the cycle for the Mets, who have won nine of 11, a stretch in which they have outscored the opposition 61-31. Lucas Duda hit a two-run homer in the third. White Sox 7, Blue Jays 5 Todd Frazier capped a five-run seventh inning with a two-run double, and the Chicago White Sox came back to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-5 Monday night. Adam Eaton hit a two-run single in the seventh as the White Sox (14-6) overcame a 5-1 disadvantage to win their fourth game in a row. Yankees 3, Rangers 1 New York Yankees starter Nathan Eovaldi took a no-hitter into the seventh and shut down the Texas Rangers in the Yankees' 3-1 win Monday night at Globe Life Park. Eovaldi was backed by home runs from Jacoby Ellsbury and Starlin Castro as the Yankees opened a nine-game road trip. New York (8-10) has won three of its last four games. Twins 4, Indians 3 Oswaldo Arcia's solo home run to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Minnesota Twins to a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday at Target Field. Arcia smashed a 1-2 fastball from Indians right hander Zach McAllister off the facing of the second deck in right field for his third homer and second game-winning home run this season. Pirates 6, Rockies 1 Matt Joyce hit a three-run home run and Jeff Locke pitched six scoreless innings as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Colorado Rockies 6-1 on Monday night. Joyce highlighted Pittsburgh's four-run seventh with a drive over the left-center field fence off Scott Oberg that gave the Pirates a 5-0 lead. The Pirates took a 6-1 lead in the eighth on Josh Harrison's two-out single. Mariners 3, Astros 2 Taijuan Walker matched a career high with 11 strikeouts, while Kyle Seager and Leonys Martin each homered for the second game in a row to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 3-2 win over the Houston Astros on Monday night. Walker allowed one run off six hits over seven innings while throwing a career-high 118 pitches. Walker (2-0) got better as the game went on, recording six of his 11 strikeouts over the final two innings. His final pitch struck out catcher Erik Kratz to end the seventh. Marlins 3, Dodgers 2 Giancarlo Stanton homered, and the Miami Marlins provided a joyful return for former Dodgers manager Don Mattingly with a 3-2 victory over Los Angeles on Monday night at Dodger Stadium. Stanton went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs in the first game against the Dodgers for Mattingly, who left the club in a mutual parting during the offseason after five seasons at the helm. Angels 6, Royals 1 Albert Pujols hit two home runs and Mike Trout added a third to lead the Los Angeles Angels to a 6-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Monday night in front of 31,061 at Angel Stadium. Pujols used his first homer to pass Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson and take over 13th place on the all-time list. The National League's three-time Most Valuable Player now has 565 career homers and needs four more to tie Rafael Palmeiro for 12th place. Diamondbacks 12, Cardinals 7 Jean Segura had four hits including a three-run home run in a nine-run sixth inning that gave the Arizona Diamondbacks the lead for good in a 12-7 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday at Chase Field. Segura hit a 1-2 pitch from Kevin Siegrist into the left-field seats for a 7-5 lead that grew to 11-5 as Arizona had nine hits and sent 14 men to the plate against four Cardinals pitchers in the inning. Giants 5, Padres 4 Angel Pagan drove in two runs with three hits Monday night, and Madison Bumgarner recorded his first win since Opening Day, helping the San Francisco Giants defeat the San Diego Padres 5-4 in the opener of a three-game series. Hunter Pence smacked his third home run of the season, a solo shot that gave the Giants the lead for good in the fourth inning, and Buster Posey added his third in the seventh inning as San Francisco continued its recent mastery of the Padres at AT&T Park.
