At AutoZone Liberty Bowl, Seth Henigan becomes Memphis football's all-time passing leader

Seth Henigan is in rarified air.

Memphis football's quarterback became the Tigers' all-time leading passer during the third quarter of Friday's AutoZone Liberty Bowl between Memphis and Iowa State. Henigan entered the game with 10,409 career passing yards, 321 away from Brady White's program record of 10,730.

White played three seasons with the Tigers after transferring from Arizona State, but Henigan also broke the record in just three seasons. He announced before the bowl game that he plans to return to Memphis for his final year of eligibility in 2024, in position to break all of the remaining passing records.

Henigan came to Memphis in 2021 and won a battle for the starting quarterback spot over Grant Gunnell. He has started every game since and helped Memphis to a 9-3 regular season in 2023.

The Tigers (6-2 American Athletic Conference) are facing off with the Cyclones (7-5, 6-3 Big 12) in Friday's game.
