Texas Longhorns football fans, the Austin American-Statesman is producing a coffee-table book on the Horns' history in the Big 12.

The 160-page book will feature photography and story highlights from years past, including the 2005 national title win versus USC. The book also will have photography and story highlights from the current season, where the Longhorns are No. 3 in the nation. Next year, the Longhorns as well as their rival, the Oklahoma Sooners, will join the Southeastern Conference.

Titled "Texas Fight: The Big 12 Years," the 160-page hardcover book will include contributions from Statesman columnists Kirk Bohls and Cedric Golden, two of the premier sports writers in the country. Their award-winning writings on the Longhorns are unmatched. Readers can expect behind-the-scenes anecdotes and storytelling from two journalists who have established themselves as the experts on Longhorn sports.

Photography for the book is being produced by the Statesman visuals staff, and compiled by visual journalists Jay Janner and Ricardo Brazziell, who have covered the Longhorns from the sidelines for decades. Leading the publication effort is Sports Editor Richard Tijerina.

"Relive the journey through Texas Longhorns football history with this hardcover coffee-table book. Memories, triumphs, legendary plays, iconic players — they're all captured in this one extraordinary book," notes Pediment Publishing, which is collaborating with the Statesman on the book.

Pre-orders are underway at Pediment.com and books are expected to ship March 1, 2024. Pre-order price is $31.95 and includes a 20% discount.
