Auburn’s place in the KenPom rankings ahead of Friday’s game with Texas Southern

The No. 15 Auburn Tigers welcome the Texas Southern Tigers to town on Friday night in hopes of earning a win to stay unbeaten.

The latest KenPom rankings were updated following Thursday’s college basketball action, and Auburn remains in a good spot ahead of Friday’s game.

The Tigers check in at No. 14 on Friday’s rankings and will enter Friday’s game as one of 81 teams that remain unbeaten. Auburn is also one of five teams from the SEC that rank in the KenPom top 25.

According to Ken Pomeroy, the purpose of the KenPom system is to show how strong a team would be if it played tonight, independent of injuries or emotional factors. Since nobody can see every team play all (or even most) of their games, this system is designed to give you a snapshot of a team’s current level of play.

Here’s a look at where Auburn stands in the major categories that are measured by KenPom ahead of Friday’s game with Texas Southern:
