Sports Chat Place: UCLA will cover against ASU football

Andrew Jett writes: "I'm staying with UCLA. The Bruins are coming off a pretty disappointing effort on both sides against Arizona, but should have free rein here. UCLA posted just 271 total yards (157 passing) with 17 first downs on Saturday while the defense surrendered 429 yards (300 passing) and 23 first downs with 11-of-16 on third-down tries. It was a pretty out-of-character effort from a Bruins team that had scored 24 or more points in four straight games prior. As for Arizona State, there was no realistic way they were going to get close to Utah in their last game—and they didn’t. The Sun Devils posted just 83 yards of offense (40 passing) with seven first downs. Things aren’t going to get much easier against an angry UCLA team this weekend."

Picks and Parlays: UCLA 31, Arizona State 10

David Anicetti writes: "UCLA will bounce back from a disappointing loss to Arizona with a victory at home over the Arizona Sun Devils on Saturday, but the play here is UNDER. The UNDER has cashed in eight of Arizona State's last 12 as well as in five of UCLA's last six. Arizona State is scoring an average of only 17.8 points per game, while at the same time UCLA is allowing an average of 16.3 points per game."
