ASU basketball coach Bobby Hurley called out for startling game day eating habit
Arizona State basketball coach Bobby Hurley appeared on Turner Sports' coverage of the NCAA men's national championship Game on Monday at State Farm Stadium, where he made a revelation about his game-day routine that startled some fans.
Hurley revealed that he doesn't eat on game days.
"We (Hurley family) all have routines and we talk about our crazy routines that we have," Hurley said. "I don't eat on game day. That's mine. I want to make myself suffer and sacrifice before I have to go out and perform."
He continued: "No food on game day. I fast. That's my way of sacrificing."
The broadcast crew was shocked to discover Hurley's game day routine, but Charles Barkley had a great response to Hurley's fasting revelation, replying: "I eat fast."

Bobby might want to consider eating on game days. Not exactly his brother when it comes to coaching

Touched by Hurleys' devotion. Truly inspiring, using hunger as fuel for the passion ignited. Keep that flame alive!

No wonder he’s insufferable during games.

He might wanna stop that. That might be why Arizona State never seems to be able to get over the top. He’s about ready to pass out during the dam* game from starvation.

I think that’s a poor choice of ritual. Your brain likely isn’t working optimally without proper sustenance. Other ways to show sacrifice while not putting yourself at a disadvantage.
