Arsenal XI vs Brighton: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest today

Arsenal expect Bukayo Saka to be passed fit to feature in today’s trip to Brighton.

The winger missed the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Luton on Wednesday due to a muscle issue. Saka had been training in the build-up to that game, but he was left out of the squad as he was not fully fit.

Arsenal were due to train on Friday afternoon after Mikel Arteta spoke to the media, and a final decision on Saka was set to be made after that.

“We have a training session in a few hours and we will know if he’s fit or not,” said Gunners boss Arteta on Friday morning. “Everyone else seems okay.”

Arsenal have eight games in total across all competitions this month and Arteta is aware that he must manage his squad during the busy schedule.

He made five changes to his starting team for the win over Luton, but the lineup to face Brighton is likely to be a more familiar one.

Declan Rice is expected to return in midfield and Gabriel Jesus should support Havertz.

Arsenal face Bayern Munich just three days after the game on the south coast, hosting the German champions in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
