Armando Bacot named Co-ACC Player of the week

The North Carolina Tar Heels wrapped up a big 2-0 week in which they beat Pitt and Clemson on the road. The two wins were huge tests for the Tar Heels as they moved to 3-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference play to begin the year.

And a big reason why they were able to earn two big road wins was because of Armando Bacot.

The center had back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 15.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game last week The two double-doubles gave him seven on the early season as he’s helped power UNC to his hot start.

For Bacot’s efforts, he was named the Co-ACC Player of the Week as he split it with Wake Forest guard Kevin “Boopie” Miller.

Bacot has won the award twice now, joining RJ Davis as the only two UNC players to win the award. Both have won it for their efforts this season, and 3 of the 4 times it has been split.

North Carolina returns to action on Wednesday as they head to Raleigh to take on NC State.
