Arkansas women’s basketball to face Tulsa to open March Madness in 2024 WBIT

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas women's basketball missed out on the NCAA's signature dance, but the Razorbacks will compete in the inaugural Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT) this March.

Arkansas (18-14) will hit the road and face three-seed Tulsa (23-9) in the first round Thursday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.

With the WBIT bid, the Razorbacks have reached the postseason for the fifth time in the past seven years under coach Mike Neighbors. Arkansas reached the quarterfinals of the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) last year.

The Razorbacks had a lackluster finish to the season as a whole, losing seven of their final eight games. Arkansas lost its only game at this season's SEC Women's Basketball tournament, falling 67-48 to Auburn.

Freshman Taliah Scott led Arkansas in scoring this season with 22.1 points per game, but she missed the final six games of the season due to a family issue.

Guards Samara Spencer (13.9 ppg) and Makayla Daniels (11.9 ppg) are the other leading scorers for Arkansas. Saylor Poffenbarger averaged a double-double this season with 10.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
