Arkansas basketball commit Isaiah Elohim named to Naismith Trophy watch list
Future Arkansas Razorback and current four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, Isaiah Elohim, was named to a prestigious award watch list on Friday afternoon.
The Naismith High School Basketball Player of the Year Trophy is given out each year to the best male and female high school basketball player in the country. On Friday, they released their 2023-24 watch list, comprised of 50 high school players across the country.
As mentioned previously, Arkansas commit Isaiah Elohim was included on the list. The senior from Northridge, California is entering his final season with Sierra Canyon High School before he heads to Fayetteville to play for Eric Musselman next year.

According to both Rivals.com and 247Sports.com, Elohim is a four-star prospect and the 10th-ranked forward in the state of California. Nationally, Rivals has him ranked No. 34 and 247Sports has him ranked No. 41.
Former winners of the Naismith High School Player of the Year Trophy include Kobe Bryant (1996), LeBron James (2003), Andrew Wiggins (2013) and Ben Simmons (2015). More recently, Cade Cunningham (2020), Chet Holmgren (2021) and last year, Isaiah Collier – who is now at USC – have taken home the honor.
Since this began in 1987, no Arkansas commit has yet to win the award.
