Arkansas baseball to host NCAA Tournament regional featuring TCU and Arizona

Arkansas baseball will once again be hosting an NCAA Tournament regional.

The announcement came Sunday night when the top 16 seeds, which host in the regional round, were revealed, but more details about the Fayetteville Regional were announced Monday during the selection show. The Razorbacks (41-16) are the No. 3 national seed. Arkansas will welcome Arizona (33-24), TCU (37-22) and Santa Clara to Fayetteville this weekend. The regional will start Friday and could go through Monday.

The Razorbacks will play Santa Clara (35-18) in a first-round game.

Arkansas' regional is paired with the Terre Haute, Indiana, Regional, hosted by 14th-seeded Indiana State. The regional winners will advance, with Arkansas hosting a best-of-three super regional if it wins its regional

Details about times, TV designation or tickets will be released later.

The Razorbacks (40-16) picked up 20 wins in SEC play with wins over Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Arkansas made it to the SEC Tournament fourth round before being eliminated by Texas A&M.

Arkansas' 20 league wins matched that of Florida, giving the Razorbacks the best record in the SEC West at 20-10. Arkansas has won eight of its last 12 games. Arkansas is 30-4 at home this season.
