Arizona State's Ashley Menne wins third consecutive state Women's Amateur Championship

Arizona State senior Ashley Menne has won a third consecutive Arizona Women's Amateur Championship, becoming the fourth golfer to accomplish the feat, joining former Sun Devils Julie Stanger, Heather Farr and Tui Selvaratnam.

Menne posted scores of 70-70-73 to finish 3 under and win by two shots in the 35-player field at Desert Highlands Golf Course.

"It's not about being perfect," Menne said. "It's about dealing with the misses."

Said ASU women's golf coach Missy Farr-Kaye: "What an amazing accomplishment for Ashley to win the AZ State Am for the third time! She joins an amazing group of Sun Devils including my sister, Heather.  We are so proud of Ashley and all of her many accomplishments and are excited to see what successes her upcoming senior year will unfold."

Abbey Schutte, who was solo second at 1 under, is the only other golfer to break par for the tournament. Sydney Bryan was third at 2 over. Carolyn Fuller and Vanessa Wang tied for fourth at 6 over.

Booth wins Arizona Open

Grant Booth won the 80th Arizona Open after closing with a 9-under 61 at Mesa Country Club. The Las Vegas resident finished at 19 under and routed the field by seven shots.

Booth, who set the tournament's 54-hole scoring mark of 191, earned $24,000 for the win. Jake Younan was solo second at 12 under. Mark Baldwin and Jesse Mueller tied for third with low amateur Nicky Kling at 10 under.

PGA Tour releases 2024 schedule

The PGA Tour officially released its 2024 schedule Monday. The season will be a calendar-year schedule for the first time since 2012. There are 36 regular-season events, down from 44 this season. There are still three FedEx Cup Playoff events to end the season. The FedEx Cup champion will take home $25 million in bonus money in 2024.

The WM Phoenix will be Feb. 8-11 and will again conclude on Super Bowl Sunday. It will not be one of the Tour's "signature" events in 2024.

Jon Rahm raking it in

Jon Rahm has four wins and $16,295,608 in earnings on the PGA Tour this season. By virtue of his finish atop the FedEx Cup standings at the conclusion of the regular season, Rahm banked a $4 million bonus in the Comcast Business Tour Top 10. Bonus money does not count towards a players on-course earnings on the official money list.

U.S. Women's Amateur under way

Three golfers from Arizona are in the 156-player field at the 123rd U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship: Raegan Capizzi, Anya Mathur and Grace McGovern, all of Scottsdale. The event started Monday at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.

There are 36 holes of stroke play with the field cut to 64. Those players will then be seeded for the match play portion of the championship. The final is set for Saturday.
