Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker finds new home at Dodger Stadium

Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker continues to make Dodger Stadium history.

On Wednesday's series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Walker hit his 14th home run at Dodger Stadium during the DBacks' 6-0 win. He is now averaging a home run per every 8.9 at-bats in Dodger Stadium.

Not only that, but MLB.com's Sarah Langs noted on X that Walker's 14th home run in Dodger Stadium is the second-most in MLB history of any player in their first 40 games there. Read Langs' full list here:

Walker trails only ex-National League MVP and two-time Silver Slugger Cody Bellinger, and he only trails him by one homer. This is even with Walker still not having played his 40th game in Dodger Stadium just yet. That, along with being neck-and-neck with another former National League MVP and star DBacks first baseman in Paul Goldschmidt is elite company to be in.

Not to mention, he is also tied up with last year's World Series MVP and three-time Silver Slugger Corey Seager, three-time All-Star Dave Kingman and two-time All-Star Max Muncy. He hit his 14th home run in Dodger Stadium just a day after his 13th, and scored three runs in the series win.

Walker has had his way in Dodger Stadium beyond just as a home run hitter. He boasts a .312/.368/.672 (1.040 OPS) in Dodger Stadium.

Walker has also played in three postseason games in Dodger Stadium, where he has reached base in 5 out of 11 plate appearances and driven in two runs. He has also scored two runs there in the playoffs as well.

Walker is not only a major part of the reason the DBacks won the series against the Dodgers, as well as the NLDS series against the Dodgers in 2023, but he also got back on track offensively during the Los Angeles series. After the strong showing, he now sports an .816 OPS to go along with 10 homers and 34 runs scored through the first 50 games of the year.

He has also driven in 32 runs in this time. The DBacks are 24-26 on the year and eight games back from the first-place Dodgers in the National League West. However, they have been plenty competitive against them this season in splitting the six head-to-head matchups so far this year.
