Arizona Coyotes fans lament Salt Lake City relocation rumors for NHL team: 'Sickening'
It's not easy being an Arizona Coyotes fan.
And that's probably an understatement, and a big one at that.
Long-suffering fans of Arizona's NHL franchise have been through so much, and the suffering might soon reach a never-before-seen level.
They might no longer have a team to support.
The speculation and rumors about a possible move to Salt Lake City for the NHL team have been hard to bear for Coyotes fans, who have taken the possibility very hard.
They turned to social media to share their thoughts on the rumors linking the Coyotes to Utah, and they were not happy thoughts.

Arizona Coyotes fans lament the team's possible relocation to Utah on social media:
Just as someone who loves the sport of hockey... a city losing a team is never a good thing.
Regardless of the past, hockey belongs in Arizona and it's beyond heart breaking to think of the impact this will have on Coyotes fans if the team does move.— Makayla Perkins (@MakaylaEPerkins) April 10, 2024
Phoenix is a sports town. We have major events. We may not have vast fan bases for our own teams but we have a tremendous amount of sports fans across the state. Losing the Coyotes would knock us down and it shouldn’t be considered. Can’t believe this is even a consideration.

jokes aside i hope arizona can work something (anything) out. sunbelt teams are so important to growing the game in communities where hockey is not uber present. we do not have an auston matthews without the coyotes

Is this how it ends? Years and years of rebuilding to finally having a team with some promise and a bright future then to just uproot and leave? It’s sickening… #Yotes

Jokes aside I feel for everyone in the coyotes org., for their fans and for all the youth hockey teams in AZ that will face a massive loss with this relocation
As a leafs fan thanks for inspiring our superstar franchise center to get into hockey— x - Jo 🏒 (@puckdrop) April 10, 2024
Here is what really boils my blood about all the Coyotes stuff, if it is true. Why go through the farce of the land auction, and the site renderings, and all the positive PR last week, only to pull the carpet out from under the feet of loyal fans?

To all the Coyotes fans out there, you have my sympathy and respect. Until you get another franchise, come bandwagon with #VegasBorn. You'll always be welcome here.

Damn this sucks. Fans of the Coyotes and hockey in general in Arizona are getting royally screwed. https://t.co/XimVA1JGjD

I love you @ArizonaCoyotes.
Long suffering fan since ‘96 here, please 🙏🏼 figure this out and shut these trolls up.— KaRoachee (@KaRoachee) April 10, 2024
We cheered for this team and these players through everything. Please, for gods sake tell us we dont have to watch keller and the boys get torn from us
— Nick (@castle_welding) April 10, 2024
Please Stay in Arizona Coyotes.

My two cents: It would've been better for Meruelo to sell/relocate the Coyotes before getting everyone's hopes up.
You hire a good GM + scouts, amass picks, get Cooley/Guenther/Doan ... and for what? To give them to Utah?
Moving in 2021 would've avoided a lot of heartbreak.— Mike Gould (@miketgould) April 10, 2024
I still think hockey could work in Arizona with competent ownership or marketable players. The Coyotes never had either.

My heart breaks for Coyotes fans today if the rumours end up being true. I have my feelings on whether or not the decision to relocate would be the right one, but no one deserves to lose their team. The common people yet again suffer due to the incompetence of the ultra rich.

I feel bad for the Arizona Coyotes fans. They deserve better!
