Arizona Cardinals OL Paris Johnson Jr. honors Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins Jr.

Before Paris Johnson Jr.'s first NFL game, he found time to honor a former Ohio State quarterback.

Prior to Johnson and the Arizona Cardinals' 20-16 loss to the Washington Commanders Sunday afternoon, the former Ohio State offensive lineman arrived at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland wearing a Dwayne Haskins Jr. shirt, paying tribute to the former Buckeye and Commanders quarterback, who died in April 2022.

Johnson's shirt had many pictures of Haskins in his Ohio State career, which lasted from 2016-18.

In Haskins' three seasons with the Buckeyes, including one season as the team's starting quarterback in 2018 where he was a Heisman Trophy finalist, he completed 413 of his 590 pass attempts for 5,396 yards, 54 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Haskins, a first-round pick by Washington in 2019, appeared in 16 NFL games and made 13 starts in 2019 and 2020, completing 60.1% of his passes for 2,804 yards, 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Haskins was involved in a fatal crash in April 2022 when he was hit by a dump truck while attempting to walk across the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 in Broward, Florida.

Johnson, who was a member of the Buckeyes' 2020 recruiting class, never played with Haskins at Ohio State.
