Area girls tennis teams learn IHSAA Tourney path with sectional pairings show
Area high school girls tennis teams found out their path in the state tournament Monday night as the Indiana High School Athletic Association held its sectional pairings show.
South Bend powerhouse and Indiana top-ranked South Bend Saint Joseph will begin play in its own sectional Wednesday at Leeper Park. The Huskies will play Riley at 4:30 p.m while SB Washington takes on LaVille.
Glenn awaits the Saint Joe-Riley winner Thursday in a semifinal, with the championship scheduled for 4:30 on Friday.

Coach Bill Mountford's St. Joe squad, which has advanced to the state finals each of the last three years, completed the regular season on a high note this past weekend, beating nemesis, No. 7-ranked Carmel, along with quality programs in Guerin Catholic and Homestead, all by 4-1 scores.
The Huskies lost to Carmel, 3-2, in last year's state championship and also eliminated the South Bend squad at state the previous two seasons.
Saint Joseph is led by senior Molly Bellia, who was the Indiana individual state champion as a freshman and the state runnerup last year.
Other local teams will be playing at the Penn Sectional where Mishawaka meets the host Kingsmen Tuesday at 4:30. That winner will meet SB Clay in the semifinal on Thursday at 4:30. The other semifinal will be between Mishawaka Marian and SB Adams Wednesday at 4:30. The final is Friday at 4:30.

Other area sectionals are at LaPorte, Culver Academies, Concord and NorthWood.
Area teams will advance to regionals to be played May 21-22. Complete state pairings can be found at IHSAA.org.
