Arch Manning chooses Texas

The nation’s top ranked recruit in the 2023 class has made up his mind as quarterback Arch Manning announced on his Twitter account Thursday that he’s committing to the University of Texas.

Manning chose Texas over Alabama and Georgia who were his other finalists.  He is the eighth Texas commitment in the 2023 recruiting class which now ranks 18th overall according to the 247Composite rankings.

It’s a huge day and a huge get for Texas as the official commitment comes after weeks of speculation that the Longhorns were the team to beat.  One would assume that Manning’s commitment should only help Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian in the talent that will want to play with him in the coming years.

Notre Dame extended an offer for Manning but was never seen as a real possibility to land his talents.
