Angelo State's Bragg, Munson selected in 2023 MLB Draft

The national champion Angelo State baseball team saw two players selected on Tuesday on the final day of the 2023 MLB Draft.

Rams ace Kade Bragg, the consensus NCAA Division II Player of the Year, was selected in the 17th round by the Twins with the 507th pick.

Bragg was 15-1 with an earned-run average of 1.20 in 104.2 innings, including 124 strikeouts

Fellow pitcher Aaron Munson was drafted in the 19th round (pick 574) by the Blue Jays. Munson was 11-2 with a 3.63 ERA.

The duo became the 13th and 14th MLB draft selections in Angelo State program history and the first player chosen since Trent Baker in 2021.

ASU signee Luis Martinez-Gomez, out of Temple College, was chosen in the 10th round by the Cubs.
